A Note of Appreciation

We the family of the late Victoria Wanja Kariuki convey our heartfelt and sincere gratitude for all the love, prayers, personal visits, words of comfort, and emotional and financial support we received from our extended family and friends following the untimely demise of our dear Victoria.

During this time of deep mourning, we appreciate this Swahili saying. A friend in need is a friend indeed. Thank you for standing with us.

During the last weeks, we saw that Vicky was dearly loved and cherished by many. We cannot capture all in this brief note, but please rest assured that we love all of you and sincerely thank you for your undying kindness and support during Vicky’s life and this trying time following her passing…

Our Special Gratitude

In particular, we give special thanks to Dr David Bukusi, Mr Phillip Ndichu Kagotho (Chairman, Kikuyu Council of Elders, Kajiado County), Ian Mbugua, Advocate, Caroline Mwangi (Daystar University), Mbari Ya Njeri, University Of Nairobi, (Parklands Law Class Of 1999), Rotary Club of Nairobi East, Rotary District 9212 (with special thanks to Rotary District Governor, Leonard Ithau, Senior Rotarians Eric Kimani and Margaret Munene, Rotarians Carolyne Kimutai, (RCNE), Monica Mwangi (RC Nanyuki) and Past President Rosemary Njeri Mureithi, (RCNE). Our heartfelt love and gratitude also go to Vicky’s dearest friends from Riara Primary School, Wanda Wamaitha, Peninah Bolo and Nicole Mahina together with the wonderful teachers and staff led by Mrs. Naomi Mbugua.

Vicky was cremated on 10th January 2024. Her ashes will be used to plant a Jacaranda Tree (whose purple flowers she loved) at her grandfather’s farm in Kinale, Kiambu in due course. We shall announce a date for this event once one is settled upon.
