“People that introduce you to new ways of thinking and new ways of seeing life are so important.” This is how I will remember you. Victoria you are exceptional, you are phenomenal, you are loved and will be missed. I met you 7 years ago and I am so grateful for experiencing you. You taught me how to appreciate a good book and to this day I read while highlighting my books, you pushed me to join the World Scholars Club even though I was scared out of my mind to speak in front of people and you were there for me when the idea of boarding school was terrifying. You were a true friend. A great friend. Even though we may have lost touch, I am so grateful for you. It is shocking and painful to have lost a soul like you but the memories live on. I will find you whenever I read ‘Half of a yellow sun.’ The book we read countless number of times and talked about in Kabarak and I will smile whenever I hear songs you often sang and danced to as we did laundry. You were a bright light, a leader, a role model and a great human being and we will miss you. I will hold on to our memories from Riara and Kabarak and will remember everything I learnt from you. I pray that God gives your mum strength and peace and I pray that you rest in peace my sweet friend!
