Rest in Peace Vicky

What I can personally say I remember most about Victoria is her brilliant mind and all the passionate arguments we would have on various topics. I remember her as our strong and able scouts commander and the many discussions we would have at the tender age of 10 trying to come up with a campaign strategy to ensure her win in the 2014 Riara Elections where she vied as governor and of course beat all the competition. I remember her going out of her way to plan a birthday party for our teacher Mr.Muhia, heading the entire organizing committee to ensure everything would be a success, showing her innate generosity and love for others. Many don’t know this but Victoria is actually the reason why I started growing my hair out as when we were in class 6 she challenged me to try something new since I had always kept a clean cut from when she first met me in standard two . I often saw our lives as mirrored considering that we were both only children raised by single mothers, a lot to achieve and ready to face the world, her being the more vocal, opinionated and female version of myself. It breaks my heart to see her go like this but everything is in God’s plan and we may never know why, but she will indeed be missed. To mama Victoria, though you may not know me personally I pray that God may grant you all the strength and courage needed to get through this difficult time and that you may have light in your life as I understand all that you have sacrificed to make Victoria’s life as fruitful and full of joy as it was. God is with you and the prayers and love of my mother and I are forever with you as well. You did a great job and raised a wonderful daughter who was cherished and loved by many. May her soul rest in eternal peace and the light of our lord Jesus Christ shine upon you.

Sincerely,

Matthew Moko Kang’ethe
